Current Open Positions: 

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Full or part-time, permanent position starting on August 8, 2023. The BCBA is responsible for providing behavior consultation and coaching to programs in order to support teams in meeting the needs of individual students to improve both academic and social competence.  They support teams to establish socially significant behavior change and attain positive intervention outcomes by providing consultation using evidence-based practices from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. 

 

Middlefork and Regional Safe School Program Principal

Full-time, permanent position starting on August 1, 2023.  Illinois Type 75 General Administrative Certificate required and knowledge of special education is preferred.  Middlefork School is a public therapeutic day school for students with disabilities in our member districts in Vermilion County.  Students placed in our program have disabilities/needs that cannot be met in their home school environment.  The Regional Safe School Program for the county is also housed in our building.  These students have been expelled and attend our Second Chance Program. 

 

Classroom Paraprofessional

Open positions for full-time or part-time classroom paraprofessionals to serve Middlefork School, a public therapeutic day school in Vermilion County for students with significant disabilities.  Classroom paraprofessionals provide direct behavioral support to students with disabilities and assist with instructional tasks as directed by the certified teacher. Professional development opportunities within and outside of the cooperative are provided at no cost to employees. Candidates must possess Illinois Professional Educator Licensure endorsed as Paraprofessional. Starting wage is $16.60 per hour. Benefits include paid health insurance, sick time, and personal time.

Special Education Teacher

Permanent, full-time position for the 2022-2023 school year.  Full and part-time applicants will be considered. High School Life Skills Program for students with significant disabilities and secondary or elementary classroom for students with emotional disabilities. Professional development opportunities within and outside of the cooperative are provided at no cost to the employee. Candidates must possess Illinois Professional Educator License.  Regionally competitive salary. Benefits included paid health insurance, sick time, and personal time.

 

Physical Therapist

The Vermilion Association for Special Education is seeking a full or part-time Physical Therapist. The physical therapist will evaluate and program children with identified motor needs in the context of education relevance.  The Physical Therapist will also supervise the physical therapy assistant.  The Vermilion Association for Special Education serves 10 rural school districts in Vermilion County, so willingness and ability to travel throughout the county. Physical Therapy License from the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulations. Salary and Benefits are based on education and experience.  Anticipated salary no less than $65,000 for 180 days of employment (mid-August through early June). 

 

Speech-Language Pathologist

Immediate positions available for full or part-time speech-language pathologists to fill openings in rural districts in Vermilion County providing speech and language services to students age 3-21.  VASE currently employees six speech-language pathologists, so opportunities for collaboration and consultation are consistent and convenient. Professional development opportunities within and outside of the cooperative are provided at no cost to employees. Candidates must possess Illinois Professional Educator Licensure. Supervision for clinical fellows is available. Starting salary is $43,796 with a $2000 yearly stipend awarded for possession/maintenance of ASHA CCC's. Benefits include paid health insurance, sick time, and personal time.

 

School Counselor

Immediate positions available for full or part-time school counselors to fill openings in rural districts in Vermilion County. VASE currently employees a team of twelve school counselors and social workers, so opportunities for collaboration and consultation are consistent and convenient. Professional development opportunities within and outside of the cooperative are provided at no cost to employees. Candidates must possess and Illinois Professional Educator License in School Counseling or IDFRP Licensure as an LCP or LCPC. Starting salary is $43,796 with a $2000 yearly stipend awarded for possession/maintenance of LCPC. Benefits include paid health insurance, sick time, and personal time.

 

School Psychologist

Immediate positions available for full or part-time school psychologists to fill openings in rural districts in Vermilion County. VASE currently employees a team of six school psychologists, so opportunities for collaboration and consultation are consistent and convenient. Professional development opportunities within and outside of the cooperative are provided at no cost to employees. Candidates must possess and Illinois Professional Educator License. Starting salary is $44,996 with a $2000 yearly stipend awarded for possession/maintenance of national certification. Benefits include paid health insurance, sick time, and personal time.

 

School Psychologist Intern

School psychologist intern will work under the supervision of one or more certified school psychologists. The intern will receive experience in one or more school buildings serving students from early childhood through high school, including an public therapeutic day school.  The intern will gain experience in Response to Intervention, curriculum-based assessment, standardized assessment, play-based assessment, consultation and collaboration, participation on problem-solving teams, and other areas of interest to the intern. A stipend of $20,000 is awarded. Paid sick leave is provided.

 

School Social Worker

Immediate positions available for full or part-time school social workers to fill openings in rural districts in Vermilion County. VASE currently employees a team of twelve school counselors and social workers, so opportunities for collaboration and consultation are consistent and convenient. Professional development opportunities within and outside of the cooperative are provided at no cost to employees. Candidates must possess and Illinois Professional Educator License in Social Work or IDFRP Licensure as an LSW or LCSW. Starting salary is $43,796 with a $2000 yearly stipend awarded for possession/maintenance of LSW or LCSW. Benefits include paid health insurance, sick time, and personal time.
